evidence markers line the street. a high speed chase of up to 120 miles per hour ... ended in a crash, shooting, and with the suspect in the hospital.heavily armed with rifles, assault weapons, a handgunas if ready to go to war, police say he also geared up with body armor. a man familiar with the suspect called police thursday saying the alleged shooter was parked in front of his glen cove home .... with a cache of weapons. by the time authorities showed up and tried taking him into custody, he took off. it's a judgemnt call the officers have to make in the pursuit. of course pursuits are dangerous, but so is a person with assault weapons and pistols and putting more people in dangerin the 30 miles from vallejo to oakland .... police say the suspect opened fire within the city limits of oakland. it isn't clear at what point officers started firing back, but the suspect eventually crashed at the international and 22nd avenue intersection.highly irregular for an officer to fire inside a moving vehicle so i highly doubt that standup oakland p-d is leading this investigation.keep in mind there are still a number of streets closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. investigators are expected to be here collecting evidence through the wee hours of reporting live from san francisco ... alecia reid ... kron 4 news.

rumrill blvd...lt. brian bubar says after speaking with the victim--investigators learned he was dealing marijuana to 3 others..they shot him and stole the drugs..police then used their surveillance cameras equipped with license plate detection throughout the city.they back-tracked the trio's steps leading up to the crime...sot: they're using technology and we're seeing that through social media applications to avoid law enforcement detection right, so we want to make sure that we are using the technology to combat this criminal activity as well. police were able to use the victims' snapchat and facebook to identify and arrest the 3 suspects... 30-year-old raymond keeton 19-year-old shavoni keetonand 19-year old jada murry are now facing attempted murder charges.police say the weapon used was made to shoot high powered ammo that closely resembles what you would find in an assault rifle. the weapon is still missing... anyone with information is asked to come forward..standup: the victim is right now not facing charges..the district attorneys office is expected to officially charge the 3 suspects on friday.in san pablo dan thorn kron4 news.

(ken)happening now- san jose police are looking for the person who opened fire on three teenagers on halloween night. the shooting happened at around 10-30 last night in front of the seven trees community center on cas drive. investigators say the gunman approached the teens, argued with the group, then shot them. (grant) the video shows a latino the video shows a latino man in court...his smile...menacing. his words... clear: he's killed cops and he's "gonna kill more cops soon." the man in the video, luis bracamontes, is an immigrant in the country illegally who was convicted this year of murdering two law enforcement officials in 2014. he's now the centerpiece of the video that president trump tweeted... as part of his closing argument on immigration before next week's midterm elections. trump

newsroom... taken after tonights' the 'battle of the bay' football game between the raiders and 49-ers was ending at levi stadium. several fans were fighting in the stands. it is a little difficult to see... as the video was taken from a higher deck, but it looks like a raiders fan and a 49-ers are fighting. police say, one male suspect was the main aggresser and was arrested. they also say, overall - there not a lot of fighting was going on... however - a few other people were arrested for public intoxication. (ken) at tonights battle of the bay - another member of the 49ers organization took a knee during the national anthem... this time it was a cheerleader... whose name is unknown. while some players throughout the league joined former niners quarterback colin kaepernick in his protests, this is the first known protest by a cheerleader. kaepernick took a knee starting in 2016... to highlight racial inequality and police brutality in america. the former 49-er is unemployed, still looking for a job in the

(ken) shocking new details about the prison- killing of former mob boss, f-b-i informant and most-wanted fugitive... james 'whitey' bulger.(pam) we need to warn you... some viewers might find details in this report disturbing. brian todd reports. tonight new information -- indicating that boston's most notorious crime boss ever.. was targeted in prison.the new york times cites law enforcement officials-- saying james "whitey" bulger was in a wheelchair when he was attacked at hazelton prison in west virginia.that he was beaten beyond recognition with a padlock, stuffed inside a sock.the times, citing a law enforcement source not directly related to the case, reports bulger's eyes appeared to have been dislodged from his head.that it's not clear whether his attackers gouged-out his eyes-- or if they were knocked out because he was beaten so severely.

les trent looks into how the bird .. which is native to east asia .... ended up thousands of miles away .. in manhattan. a rare duck not usually found in north america was spotted swimming in central park, prompting a flock of onlookers. the mandarin duck, which is usually found in japan and china, has stunned new york residents and tourists alike. it has a hot-pink bill, multicolored feathers and various colors on its mug.the duck was discovered by a man who happened to be taking a stroll in the park. he recorded video of the bird, then posted it online, where it has gone viral and prompting a flock of onlookers to flood central park. one new yorker told inside edition they skipped work on thursday just to take pictures of the rare duck. but the mystery of how the duck ended up some 7,000 miles away from home is one that may not be easily cracked. so far experts have focused on the tag on its leg. if they can get ahold of the duck and check the tag, researchers might be able to find out where the bird came from. none of the local zoos have reported missing a duck, leading local bird-watching communities believe it may have been a domestic pet that got loose, flying to manhattan from a neighboring town or borough. the bird watchers told cbs news they believe the sturdy bird will likely stay

(grant) in san jose police and c-h-p shut down several side shows that were all over santa clara county last night. in the video cars were whipping around in one intersection as a large crowd watches. the san jose police department issued three citations. the c-h-p made one arrest and impounded a car for 30 days. authorites responded to reports of sideshow activity all over the county after getting a tip... that the side shows were planned. there was also an accident where the driver was believed to be involved in sideshow activity

(ken)police have identifed the two people killed in crash involving a tour bus on interstate 880 in union city. the alameda county coroner said today 57-year-old renee rodriguez of hayward and 46-year-old lumumba richard of san lorenzo died tuesday night. a tour bus collided with the rear of a 1997 lexus driven by rodriguez. the bus then crashed into a ford driven by richard. rodriguez and richard were pronounced dead at the scene. the cause is still under investigation. (pam) an 18- year old woman was hospitalized ....

after four other women allegedly attacked her with a plastic spork ... at a restaurant in downtown san francisco. it all happened around 4- this morning, at a 24-hour eatery on mission street. according to police, when the victim began fighting with the suspects, the four women held her down... and began cutting her face with a spork. the victim suffered minor cuts to her face. officers are still looking for the suspects, all described as women between 18- and 20- years old. (ken) california corrections officials arrested more than one hundred sex offender parolees during an annual halloween sweep known as operation boo. that's about 9 percent of the parolees contacted statewide. only eight parolees face new charges while the rest allegedly violated conditions of their parole officials say hundreds of parole agents and local law enforcement officers participated in the crackdown involving searches and compliance checks on sex offender parolees. the sweep is designed to keep the offenders from contacting children or engaging in other halloween activities.

whole foods and other subsidiary employees.amazon workers in the u-k are also getting a boost. the company is raising the minimum wage for london- area employees to 13- dollars- and 60- cents. for the rest of the u-k, minimum pay will start at 12 -dollars and 30- cents per hour. (ken)for the first time, the food and drug administration has approved a cannabis-based medication that will be available in all 50 states. epidiolex is an oral solution approved for treating two types of epileptic syndromes. doctors are also allowed to prescribe it for other conditions.the new cannabis pill is approved for patients aged two years and up. the average price is nearly 33-thousand- dollars a year. most insurance plans will cover the drug. not easy to come by.(ken) kron4's maureen kelly takes an in-depth look at which bay area locations are seeing the largest amount of pot sales.....and which are still taking their time in rolling out the legislation. while some cannabis dispensaries in oakland and san francsico allow customers to toke up.....there are many places in the bay area still without shops that sell what's now legal in the state to consume. that's because proposition 64 approved last november allowed for each city and county to put their own rules in place.....and that is making for a slow rollout of the new law in some spots. 54:26 writing a thoughtful and careful ordinance that really explains what a jurisstiction wants to do does take some time according the the california tax and fee administration there's been 250 million taxable transactions in the nine county bay area during the first six months that recreational weed became legal. here is a map that shows how some are seeing brisk business.....the local top seller of pot is the city of san francisco which had 83

million dollars in cannabis sales.....while the county of napa has not had a single taxable pot transaction.that might change next year....since the city of napa is in the process of allowing medicinal dispensaries in town...and american canyon plans to issue a limited number of permits for commercial businesses like grow houses in their industrial area. and while the county allows for pot delivery and for people to grow their own....the ban on commerical cannabis businesses put in place right after prop 64 became law remains in effect. (standup)not only that , later this month the board of supervisors will consider extending that ban another year, the county spokesperson says commericial cannabis is just not something they want to rush into...especially since napa is already a popular tourist destination because of another crop.4:25 napa county is known as a world renowned wine industry we do wine really well just like silicon valley does software manufacturing really well, pittsburg does steel really well we don't know where cannabis fits in yet to the greater scheme of napa county and we just need some time to figure out what that looks like for usand can you plant cannabis next to wine grapes and the chemicals that you would use on cannabis how to they affect wine grapes and so these are questionst that need to be answeredthe napa county farm bureau says they've been approached by grape growers interested in growing cannabis.....but they have yet to take a stand on the matter. this is a field that's very new and finding expert that can give you definative answers about this is difficult and that's why

we've taken our time and going thru a process that really allows us to study the issue and really determine is there going to be a problem is you grow cannabis next to wine grapes at all benicia in nearby solano county recently rolled back their ban on commerical pot...several dispensaries are vying to be one of two permitted in the town of 28-thousand people, in areas away from their quaint downtown....but there is no limit on the number of cannabis cultivators, manufactorers, distrubitors or testing facilities that will be allowed in their industrial section. 5300 we know there's a black market...for cannabis anyway and if we wanted to try to get ahead of it one of the things to do was to regulate it and be very we invited in and allowed in and so we are in that process nowthe vice mayor says voters will decide this november whether or the city council to tax businesses...using the money generated to help pay for services like police and fire departments and libraries...becanow....57:46 clearly we need additonal sources of revenueif measure e passes....the city council will decide in late november just how high to set that tax rate....to help them raise the funds they need.....but not so steep to discourage those cannabis businesses from moving in. maureen kelly kron4 news

(pam) the federal drug administration and the department of homeland security are working together to make sure patients and their devices are secure. jessica smith reports. nats hackers bad actors have hacked bank accounts and emails...but could they hack your heart? any connected medical device has the potential for cyber threats to occur suzanne schwartz is an fda cybersecurity expert. she says implantable devices that send information to doctors, patients and healthcare providers could be at risk. pacemakers, difibulators, insulin pumps>there are also concerns hackers could target machines like mris, cat scans and ventilators. we are building information sharing platforms. that's really the key here, is that cybersecurity is a shared responsibilitythe fda has also enlisted so-called "white hat" hackers to help identify cyber weaknesses.

beautiful warm start to november with temperatures soaring into the 70s and 80s. there were even some 70s along the coast. high pressure continues to dominate our weather pattern sending any chance of showers well to the north. highs tomorrow will once again be warm but cooler near the coast. highs will be in the 70s and mid 80s inland with patchy morning fog and cooler 60s at the coast. a few more clouds are expected this weekend with elevated fire danger in the north and east mountains. more sunshine and mild weather is expected next week.
